I have plenty of data that most important software in the world is built by computer scientists. For one, I am one of those. For others, it is a matter of public record who built all the things I mentioned, I know (or knew) a few of them personally, ever heard of Kernighan, Ritchie, Thompson, Hassabis, Ferrucci, Wozniak, Torvalds, Joy, and all of them are... wait for it: computer scientists.
