You can be against patents and other exploitative forms of IPR without being against the protection of authorship.
Copyright is one form of IPR but not all IPR are copyright.
Besides, most stuff people write on medium or social media in general is worthless and does nothing but polluting the global information space. And yes, this include my comments :)
